Monica helps individuals who are grieving, aging and/or at the end of their lives. Monica uses End-of-Life Doula techniques such as advance care directive, meal prep and planning, and legacy work. She has presented her work in various seminars; she is the co-author of the e-workbook Order My Steps: End of Life Planning.
Monica has always had a strong belief in charity and giving back. She volunteers for charities that address the needs of infants and adults. Monica believes to care for others and extend a listening ear is one of the most precious gifts an individual can possess. She learned early how joy in her own life came from bringing joy to others. Monica initially became aware of the term “End of Life Doula” from the CEO during a board meeting. After talking to the CEO, she became interested in serving in the role of a Death Doula. However, Monica’s decision to take this career path was greatly influenced by two devastating losses: the loss of her father and the loss of her cousin.
Monica is the Founder of Transition My Way. Transition My Way is an organization created to provide support to those who are ill and their families. The organization also educates people on the importance of end-of-life preparation, care and the choices they have before, during, and at the end-of-life.
