Iasia Vann is a licensed End-of-Life educator in death and dying. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and currently resides in North East, MD. As lover of life and all that it has to offer, Iasia has dedicated 17 plus years to aiding others in navigating life within a multitude of arenas.

Iasia started her career in caring for others in her early adulthood by working as a Home Health Aide and Companion to individuals with and without medical needs. She later moved on to work with children at a non-for-profit company for 2 years before working in the Health Care field for 8 years as a Patient Care Associate starting in 2006. Her time in this position afforded her the opportunity to work with infants, children, adults, the elderly, LGBTQIA+, and many other populations.

Serving as a Patient Care Associate, she provided medical care from a heart centered approach which focused on having a mindful attitude and emotional resonance in caring for patients. When she was not providing medical care to patients, she provided end of life comfort to individuals and families. She would sit with patients that were dying and stay with them until they passed on and then prepare their body and take them to the morgue. If time permitted, she would sit and comfort the family spiritually, emotionally and tell them about their last moments, hopes and wishes.

Iasia pursed this career due to her personal and professional grief experiences in life and her desire help people and families plan and deal with their end-of-life journey. If you’re suffering from a terminal illness or have thought about how your life will end, should you not be allowed to choose how it all happens? Do you have your financial affairs in order? Who will get your personal belongings or property? Have you told your loved ones? Have you made amends with individuals in your life? Have you made peace with yourself? What haven’t you done in life that you want to do now? What legacy will you be leaving behind? After all, it’s your life and you only get one.
